COLLINSVILLE, IL – Senator Bill Haine (D-Alton) and Attorney General Lisa Madigan held a roundtable at the Collinsville Memorial Library on Tuesday to help educate consumers on an array of issues and services available through the agency.

"We must work to inform our citizens of the various schemes being perpetrated by criminals and the Attorney General's office is a tremendous state resource that helps consumers and protects them from such fraudulent practices," Haine said.

"We are here today to educate and advocate to make sure that people are aware of these scams and the help that is available," Attorney General Madigan said. "We want people to be able to turn to us for that help."

The Attorney General's office offers a plethora of resources for Illinois residents, including information and counseling on consumer fraud issues such as identity theft, mortgage foreclosure relief, senior fraud, military and veteran's rights, internet safety, and crime victims services, among others.
